  • A good cut of beef chuck for the roast (2-3 pounds)
  • 1 packet dry salad dressing – Italian
  • 1 packet dry salad dressing – Ranch
  • 1 packet dry Brown Gravy
  • ½ cup of water

Instructions:

  1. Start by selecting a well-marbled beef chuck for the roast. You can use one large piece weighing around 2-3 pounds or two smaller pieces totaling the same weight. The marbling and fat content will contribute to the richness of the final dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the dry salad dressing mix – Italian, dry salad dressing mix – Ranch, and dry Brown Gravy mix.
  3. Add ½ cup of water to the mixed dry ingredients and stir until well combined. This will create a flavorful seasoning mixture.
  4. Place the beef chuck(s) in the slow cooker and pour the prepared seasoning mixture over the roast.
  5. Set the slow cooker to cook on low for 8 hours. Allow the roast to slowly cook, absorbing the flavors of the seasoning mix.
  6. Once the cooking time is complete, check the roast for tenderness. The meat should be fork-tender and easily fall apart.
  7. If you desire a thicker gravy, transfer the liquid from the slow cooker to a skillet. Gradually whisk in some flour, stirring continuously until the desired thickness is achieved. This step can be done on the stovetop.
  8. Serve the pot roast with the flavorful gravy, and enjoy this simple and delicious slow-cooked meal.
