Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb thinly sliced steak (such as ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet, cook the steak slices until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the onions, bell pepper, and garlic until softened.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish. Top with half of the steak, onion mixture, provolone, and cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  • In a small saucepan, heat the beef broth, heavy cream, and butter until the butter is melted. Pour over the casserole.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
